Due to Covid-19, we ask all participants during this event to please remain in your vehicles, wear masks, and PLACE ALL ITEMS TO BE DROPPED OFF IN YOUR TRUNK OR BACK OF THE VEHICLE. THANK YOU!
Presented by Keep Mesquite Beautiful and the City of Mesquite, Mesquite Recycles Day is held on the second Saturday of November each yearfrom 8 a.m. to noon in the front parking lot of Poteet High School, located at 3300 Poteet Drive. Vehicles enter the event through the front entrance on Galloway.
Gently used eye glasses
Gently used books, videos, commercially-produced DVDs, CDs, and Books on Tape. (please note: as of May, 2015 the library no longer accepts magazines. Please place these in your regular recycling bin)
Used laser and ink jet printer cartridges, and used rechargeable batteries
Gently used clothing, handbags, linens, and towels
Gently used toys and children’s items and working televisions for donation
Tires and used appliances
E-waste (computers, monitors, printers, televisions, cell phones, or any electronic device). Please throw away any VHS video tapes in your regular trash.
CFL lightbulbs (please place incandescent or other light bulbs in your trash)
A document destruction truck will be available for residential shredding only. To participate, please bring only individual documents for shredding. Please do not bring magazines, ad inserts, envelopes or anything other than those documents to be shred. We're sorry, we cannot accept business shredding. Space in the shredding trucks is limited, so residents who aren't in compliance with the above requests will be asked to separate non-acceptable items before utilizing this service.
Commercial office waste and household hazardous waste are not accepted at this event. All household hazardous waste (i.e. paint cans, pesticides, and motor oil) must be taken to 11234 Plano Road in Dallas, Texas.
