Grass and Weeds
City Code Section 10-127 requires grass and weeds to be shorter than eight (8) inches in height in the yard, alley and easement.
Trash and Junk
City Code Section 10-129 prohibits the presence of trash/junk (building materials, appliances, auto parts, etc.), rubbish or garbage on your premises.
Inoperable Vehicles
City Code Section 10-164 prohibits vehicles that are incapable of being lawfully operated upon public streets and highways or in a condition of partial dismantlement to be parked or standing within the City.
Unlawful Parking In Yard
City Code Section 10-14 prohibits vehicles, trailers, campers, boats, machinery, and equipment from being parked on unimproved surfaces. View the complete ordinance.
Overhanging Limbs (Pruning to Prevent Obstruction)
City code Section 15.5-9 requires a minimum clearance of ten (10) feet over a sidewalk and fourteen (14) feet over streets and alleys. Limbs removed must be cut into lengths no greater than four (4) feet and placed on the front curb for pick up by the Solid Waste department.
Front and Rear Number
City Code Section 10-28 through 10-30 requires residences to have displayed thereon at both the front and rear the official house or street number in Arabic block numerals at least three (3) inches high by one-half (1/2) inch wide and must be visible from the alley/street.
Accessory Structures
City Code Chapter 7 and Section 302.7 of the International Property Maintenance Code require all structures, including detached garages, fences, and walls, be maintained structurally sound and in good repair.
Stagnant Water, Impure/Unwholesome Matter
City Code Section 10-129 requires the owner/occupant to maintain premises free from stagnant water, rubbish, filth or other impure or unwholesome matter.
Placement of Trash Receptacles
City Code Section 14-35 City Code prohibits the placement of trash receptacles for the front prior to 5:30 PM the day before and no later than 7:30 am the day of pickup. All Curb line receptacles must be removed by 8:00 PM the day trash is collected.
Graffiti
City Code Section 10-202 prohibits any person from placing any advertisement, picture, or written matter upon any house, wall, building, fence, sidewalk or other property, public or private, without the permission of the owner or person in charge.
State Law 28.08, Section A, under Offenses Against Property Code, states a person commits an offense if with aerosol paint or an indelible marker and without the effective consent of the owner the person intentionally or knowingly makes markings, including inscriptions, slogans, drawings or paintings, on the tangible property of the owner.
Oversized/Commercial Vehicles in Residential Areas
City Code Section 9-166 was amended to align the definition of a "commercial motor vehicle" with the Texas Transportation code, which classifies vehicles based on Gross Vehicle Weight (GSW).
City Code Sections 9-167 and 9-168, prohibit the parking of "commercial or oversized vehicles" in residential areas.
City Code Section 9-169, parking of "recreational vehicles or trailers", in any combination are limited to two (2) per single family lot.
