2019 Volunteer Recognition

City of Mesquite volunteers were the guest honorees at the City's annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on Thursday, February 21.  The lunch's theme, Let the Good Times Roll, celebrated the work of over 400 individuals who volunteered in 14 divisions during 2018. Mayor Stan Pickett was the keynote speaker and presented the President's Volunteer Service Awards to those honorees in attendance. Award categories included: Bronze (100-250 volunteer hours), Silver (250-500 volunteer hours), Gold (500+ volunteer hours), and President's Call to Service (4,000+ volunteer hours). Departments that utilize volunteers also presented Department Volunteer of the Year Awards.

President's Call to Service Pins (4,000+ service hours) were presented to two individuals: Jerome Geisler for his service to the Mesquite Fire Corps, and Judi Brown, for her service to the Mesquite Animal Shelter.
