2018 Volunteer Recognition

Each year the City of Mesquite hosts an appreciation luncheon in honor of those individuals that freely give their time to enhance the City’s ability to provide quality services to our community. The 2018 Volunteer Luncheon was held on February 15 at the Mesquite Convention Center in recognition of over 80,000 service hours donated by 400 volunteers in 2017. To learn about becoming a volunteer for the City of Mesquite, go to Volunteer Opportunities.

Mayor Stan Pickett was the keynote speaker and presented the President's Volunteer Service Awards to those honorees in attendance. Award categories included: Bronze (100-250 volunteer hours), Silver (250-500 volunteer hours), Gold (500+ volunteer hours), and President's Call to Service (4,000+ volunteer hours). Departments that utilize volunteers also presented Department Volunteer of the Year Awards.
