911 OPERATOR/PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER
Starting Salary: Starting Salary: $14.00/hr.

You must be able to work the following rotating shifts on a month-to-month basis during the first year of employment:
6am-4pm
10am-8pm
4pm-2am

A Public Safety Dispatcher will provide a variety of specialized and routine tasks in the provision of emergency and non-emergency communication services. They answer emergency and non-emergency calls for the Police and Fire Departments. They also provide emergency dispatch services for the Police and Fire Departments for the City of Mesquite.
Must be 18 years of age.
Must have a High School Diploma or GED on hire date.

No experience required.
Must possess a valid Class C Texas driver's license.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, which will include working all shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.

Detention Officer’s participate in a variety of semi-skilled tasks involved in the processing of prisoners for detention in the municipal jail. They oversee the safety and well-being of all prisoners and provide responsible administrative and technical support to the detention function in a stressful environment.
