MUNICIPAL COURT CLERK
Starting Salary: Starting Salary: $12.85/hr.
Closing Date: Open Until Filled
The Municipal Court Division is responsible for the legal resolution of all City traffic cases, all criminal cases arising under City ordinances and all Class C misdemeanors filed with the court. The Municipal Court is also responsible for warrants issued, processing after dispositions are finalized, quarterly warrant audits and monthly reporting.

The City of Mesquite is seeking a Municipal Court Clerk to perform a wide variety of specialized clerical duties in support of the municipal court including the initiation, processing, and maintenance of legal documents, correspondence and statistics. The Municipal Court Clerk will provide information and assistance to the public. Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.

  • Requires six (6) months clerical work experience requiring public contact and the interpretation of rules and regulations.

  • Must be able to type 35 wpm.

Must be available to work M-F 9am-6pm.

Testing Required: Typing (35wpm), Customer Service and Math

PUBLIC WORKS DISPATCHER / WATER PUMP STATION MONITOR
Starting Salary: Starting Salary: $12.16/hr.

The City of Mesquite is looking for a qualified candidate for the position of Public Works Dispatcher/Water Pump Station Monitor. This individual will participate in the dispatching of personnel and equipment, while monitoring the control of the city owned water pumping and storage facilities. Monitoring of the City of Mesquite’s Service Center security system will be included in the performance of this position.

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.

  • NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

  • Must be able to type 20 words per minute.

  • Must possess a class C Texas Drivers license.

  • Must obtain a “Class D” water operator’s certification from the TCEQ within one year of employment. Failure to obtain certification will result in non-disciplinary termination.

Must be available to work a flexible schedule, 2 weekday nights 8 hour shifts and 2 weekend nights 12 hour shifts

Thurs: 12:30am-8:30am (8 hrs)
Fri: 12:30am:-8:30am (8 hrs)
Sat: 8:30pm-8:30am (12 hrs)
Sun: 8:30pm-8:30am (12 hrs)

TESTING REQUIRED: Typing (20wpm) Excel and Word
