ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN – CHILDREN’S SERVICES
Starting Salary: Starting Salary: $15.50/hr.

The City of Mesquite North Branch Library has an excellent program for children of all ages. From book clubs to Storytime which includes stories, filmstrips, fingerplays and group activities; children will become acquainted with authors and illustrators of Children’s Literature. The North Branch Library is seeking a part-time, Assistant Librarian who will work specifically in the Children’s Services area assisting the Children’s Librarian with planning, organizing and presenting Children’s programs. The Assistant Librarian will also assist in providing information to library patrons including reader's advisory, reference, curriculum support, collection development and programming. In addition, they will respond, resolve or direct questions from library patrons and provide highly responsible staff assistance to the librarian. Requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Major coursework in library science is preferred. No experience required. Must be available to work a flexible 16 hours per week schedule with some evenings and Saturdays as needed. Must possess a valid Class C Texas driver's license. The City of Mesquite Main Library has an excellent collection of genealogy materials. The collection includes microfilm census records for Texas and other areas of the U.S., journals from other genealogy societies, family histories, and material for tracing your family history. The Main Library is seeking a part-time, Assistant Librarian who will work specifically in the Genealogy Department providing assistance to library patrons with local history and genealogical research. The City of Mesquite is seeking a Crew Member in Streets to perform a wide variety of general maintenance activities and functions including installing, maintaining and repairing concrete and asphalt. The Crew Member in Streets will provide support to the public and assigned City departments and divisions. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Requires six (6) months of experience in general labor. Must possess a valid Class C Texas driver's license. Must possess a valid Class A Texas driver's license or obtain a Class A Commercial license within 90 days of employment. Failure to obtain Class A driver’s license within 90 days of employment will result in non-disciplinary termination. The City of Mesquite is seeking a Crew Member in the Traffic and Street Lighting division to perform a wide variety of general maintenance activities and functions including installing, maintaining and repairing signs, markings and signals. This position will also provide support to the public and assigned city departments and divisions. Requires six (6) months experience in general labor operating motorized equipment similar to that used in traffic operations (signals, signs and markings) which includes working in heavy traffic conditions. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Must posses a valid Class C Texas driver's license. Must obtain a valid Class A Commercial driver's license (the city will assist with obtaining a CDL) within ninety (90) days of employment as a condition of continued employment. Must be available to work 40 hours per week M-F, 7:00am- 4:30pm.

The Human Resources Analyst will primarily be responsible for performing duties related to the benefits functions of HR, which includes publishing communication to employees, coordinating the City’s wellness programs; reporting medical claims and health center quarterly pharmacy data; preparing and revising benefit brochures and mailings to employees and retirees, open enrollment functions and leave administration; will also provide on an as needed basis support for the City’s payroll function and assist in employment and recruiting. LINE SERVICES TECHNICIAN

The Mesquite Metro Airport is located approximately 13 miles to the east of downtown Dallas. Known by the FAA as a general aviation reliever airport, it provides a safe, efficient and environmentally sensitive air transportation facility appropriate to the needs of the community. The Mesquite Metro Airport is seeking a part-time, Line Services Technician to perform a variety of general maintenance tasks such as fueling aircraft for airport customers; minor maintenance on airport equipment, vehicles, buildings, grounds, ramps and hangers; and to perform a variety of customer service tasks such as accepting cash and issuing change, and responding to and directing inquiries from customers. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Requires six (6) months of experience in maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment. MUNICIPAL COURT CLERK

The Municipal Court Division is responsible for the legal resolution of all City traffic cases, all criminal cases arising under City ordinances and all Class C misdemeanors filed with the court. The Municipal Court is also responsible for warrants issued, processing after dispositions are finalized, quarterly warrant audits and monthly reporting. The City of Mesquite is seeking a Municipal Court Clerk to perform a wide variety of specialized clerical duties in support of the municipal court including the initiation, processing, and maintenance of legal documents, correspondence and statistics. The Municipal Court Clerk will provide information and assistance to the public. Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred. Requires a high school diploma or GED. TRAFFIC ENGINEER

The City of Mesquite Engineering Division is seeking a qualified Traffic Engineer to join our team. The City currently has 105 traffic signals in operation with four new traffic signals planned and seven existing traffic signals scheduled for upgrade. The City is currently in the process of completing the last phase of its nearly $3.5 million traffic signal upgrade and interconnection plan that will create a Traffic Management Center, allowing all of the traffic signals in Mesquite to be operated from a central location. The Traffic Engineer will be responsible for: managing the City’s Traffic Management Center, traffic signal fiber optic system and traffic signal progression system based on ACTRA Central System software. This position will also perform traffic signal warrant studies, design traffic signals, as well as prepare traffic signal plans, specifications, and estimates. Additional responsibilities of the Traffic Engineer include: performing speed studies and traffic impact analyses, reviewing requests for driveway access and design plans prepared by others for compliance with accepted traffic engineering principles and standards as well as City Code, and providing highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Manager of Traffic Engineering and Street Lighting. Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in traffic or transportation engineering or other closely related field. Four years of increasingly responsible experience as a registered professional engineer engaged in traffic engineering, efficient signal progession, traffic signal design and operations. Possession of a valid driver's license. Possession of an active certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer, with specialization in the field of civil engineering with a focus on transportation, issued by the Texas Board of Registration of Professional Engineers; or possession of similar registration issued by another state, with the condition that the successful applicant obtain an active certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer, issued by the Texas Board of Registration for Professional Engineers within twelve months of employment as a condition of continued employment. Possession of an active certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) or the ability to obtain certification within two years of the date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Must be available to work M-F 8am-5pm.
