The
Citizens Fire Academy is a ten week program that educates the participants
about the various functions and services the Mesquite Fire Department
provides to the community. Participants will gain an understanding
of these functions, how the fire department is organized to provide
these services, and why we do what we do. The Citizen's Fire Academy
does not train citizens to become firefighters. Our intent is to
provide information, through classroom instruction and hands on
training, of the duties and responsibilities of the fire department.
The participants will have the opportunity to experience first-hand
the varied tasks required to accomplish this mission. We sincerely
hope this experience will enhance your knowledge of the Mesquite
Fire Department and give you insight into why we value our department
as one of the best in the State of Texas.
