Franchised Utilities - ROW Use Permits

The Engineering Division is responsible for developing standards and issuance of permits to franchised utility companies (electric, telephone, gas, cable TV, etc.) that use City right-of-way or easements for installation of their facilities. The Engineering Division employs Public Works Construction Inspectors to inspect the installation of these franchised facilities to ensure they are correctly located within the right-of-way and that the right-of-way is restored to acceptable condition. The Public Works Construction Inspectors also respond to citizen complaints regarding damage to right-of-way by franchised utility companies.
