Business Retention
It is an elementary principle of business.
Numbers. Don’t. Lie.
Most economic development statistical data indicates that 65-85 percent of all new jobs created in a community, as well as the new capital investment, comes by way of expansion by existing firms.
Mesquite’s business retention initiative is comprised of three main components:
1) Visitations
2) Follow up and relationship building
3) Communication tools
The visitations are important to establish the other two. Through the visitations, meeting with business owners and CEOs, we are able to chronicle the issues or concerns they have and work toward getting them addressed.
We are able to share in their successes help with potential expansion plans by guiding it through the process.
The visitation reports are reviewed and proper follow-up is stressed. The communication tools are established by a database to provide information on important topics and even through the Web site.
