Traffic Signals. Traffic Engineering Division is responsible for the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of over 100 traffic signals within the City of Mesquite, to include those on State rights-of-way, in accordance with the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Within the next few years, all traffic signals will be connected via fiber optic lines or wireless technology to a central traffic management facility and TxDOT’s DalTrans facility. Report malfunctioning traffic signals immediately to 972-216-4104.
Signs and Pavement Markings. Traffic Engineering Division is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all signs and pavement markings in the City of Mesquite, exclusive of State rights-of-way, accordance with the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Report a missing or knocked down sign on-line at http://www.cityofmesquite.com/onlineservices.php .
Street and Freeway Lighting. Traffic Engineering Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all freeway lighting on State rights-of-way. Oncor, under its franchise utility agreement with the City, owns, operates, and maintains streetlights on all City streets. Report an inoperative freeway light to 972-216-4104. Report an inoperative streetlight to Oncor at www.OncorStreetlight.com .
